The experience

You ride a 2023 Cannondale E-Bike fitted with anti-puncture tires and a comfortable saddle. The electric assist handles the hills while you navigate Rome's carefully planned low-traffic routes. The guide leads you past Trajan's Column and the Vittoriano Monument, then to Trevi Fountain, where you learn the history behind the baroque stone. From there the route moves through the Spanish Steps and up to Piazza del Popolo, the square where travelers arriving from the north first glimpsed the city centuries ago.

Villa Borghese comes next. You cycle through the park and stop for a scenic view of Rome spread below. Then down to Piazza Navona to circle the oblong square and see the central Baroque fountain up close. The Pantheon gets a short break in front of it, one of the best-preserved buildings from Antiquity. The route also takes in the Rome Jewish Ghetto, a small neighborhood dense with archaeological and religious heritage, and the Theater of Marcellus, an ancient structure that served as the prototype for the Colosseum. You finish at Piazza del Campidoglio atop Capitol Hill, designed by Michelangelo, with a view of the Roman Forum spread below. The whole loop covers roughly 8.5 miles at a leisure pace.
