The experience
You'll cook in the home of a Cesarina: one of Italy's 600+ passionate home cooks who open their kitchens to travelers across more than 120 cities. The class focuses on three dishes that define Asti cuisine: a seasonal starter, then your choice of agnolotti, pumpkin gnocchi, or lasagne all'albese, and to finish, a local dessert like bonet, bicciolani biscuits, bignole, or tiramisu. Each participant gets a full workstation with utensils and all the ingredients ready, so you're not hunting for anything. Just cooking.
The Cesarina teaches you the techniques and the tricks that make these dishes work, and you put your skills to the test as you go. Once everything is plated, you sit down and taste all three recipes you've just made, paired with a selection of the region's red and white wines. Water and coffee are included, along with an official Le Cesarine apron to take home. The class takes three hours total, and you can choose a morning or afternoon slot depending on what fits your schedule. The address of the home is kept private until after you book, but it's in Asti or the surrounding area. You can decide how far you're willing to travel, and public transportation options are nearby.
