The experience
You arrive in Giove, a medieval village in the heart of Umbria, and spend the morning learning the secrets of traditional pasta-making from Alice and Alex. Using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients from their organic garden, you'll work with your hands to shape homemade pasta and prepare other classic Umbrian dishes. The instruction is hands-on: you're not watching a demonstration, you're making the food itself.
After the cooking session, the experience shifts to wine. A guided tasting introduces you to a curated selection of exceptional local wines from the region. As you sip each one, your hosts share the history and heritage behind the winemaking process: how the wines are made, what makes them distinct, and why they pair with what you've just cooked. Then you sit down together to eat the dishes you created, each course matched with the wines you've tasted.
The day includes a walk around Giove itself, taking in the medieval castle and historic village. Lunch, wine pairings, coffee or tea, and local cured meats, cheeses, and bruschetta are all included. Free pickup runs from Attigliano-Bomarzo station. Paid pickup from other locations is available on request if you contact them ahead of time.

Is this one for you? This class suits anyone who wants to learn by doing rather than watching. You're making the pasta and dishes yourself, not observing a chef. The four-hour format fits a morning or afternoon in Umbria without consuming a full day, and the wine pairing at the end means the experience ends with tasting, not teaching.
