The experience
Seven to eight hours on a 26-foot gozzo boat built in 2023 or 2025 means you cover the full arc of the coast without rushing. The boat leaves Positano and sails past medieval watch towers, colorful villas and the small towns strung along the water (Praiano, Conca dei Marini, Atrani, Maiori and Minori) each one visible from the sea before you decide whether to stop. Furore Fjord is the first major stop, a natural river inlet where a hidden beach sits beneath old fishermen's houses and a bridge arching overhead. The water here is so clear you can see the seabed.
Swimming and snorkeling happen at several stops along the route. Pandora Cave, the largest grotto on the coast, lets you plunge into crystalline water for a swim inside the cave itself. The Emerald Grotto is optional and depends on wind and swell, when conditions allow, sunlight enters through underwater openings and turns the water an emerald color that reflects off the cave walls. Between swims you get towels, snorkeling equipment, prosecco, beer, limoncello and Aperol Spritz from a fridge on board, plus bottled water and dry snacks. A canopy provides shade on the aft deck. Lunch happens at a waterfront restaurant in Conca dei Marini or another beach town if you want it. You order and pay separately there.
The itinerary is flexible, so you can ask to visit Amalfi town itself (to walk its narrow streets full of shops and see the ancient cathedral up close), or spend more time at whichever beach or cove appeals to you. Only your group travels on the boat, and the guide speaks English, Spanish or Italian depending on who books.

Is this one for you?Book this tour if your group is six people or fewer and you want to control the day without other travelers on board. The private boat means you set the pace at each stop. Stay longer at a beach you love, skip a site that does not appeal, or ask to explore Amalfi town instead of another cove.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English, Spanish and Italian.
What happens if it rains?
It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. Free cancellation up to 24 h before the start.
What is Furore Fjord like when you arrive by boat?
Furore Fjord is a natural river inlet where a tiny hidden beach sits beneath old colorful fishermen's houses and a stone bridge that arches over the water. The inlet is narrow and sheltered, so the water stays calm even when the open coast is rough.
Can you swim inside Pandora Cave?
Yes. Pandora Cave is the largest grotto on the Amalfi Coast and you can plunge into its crystalline water for a swim inside the cave. It is one of the main stops on the tour.
When can you visit the Emerald Grotto?
The Emerald Grotto is optional and accessible only in calm conditions. Strong wind and high swell can make entry impossible, so the guide will decide on the day whether it is safe to go. When you do enter, sunlight filters through underwater openings and tints the water an emerald color that sparkles on the cave walls.
What drinks and snacks are on the boat?
Prosecco, beer, limoncello and Aperol Spritz are kept in a fridge on board, along with bottled mineral water, Coca-Cola and lemon soda. Dry snacks include several kinds of chips, peanuts, olives and other items. Lunch at a restaurant is separate and you pay for it there.
How many people travel on the boat?
The boat holds a maximum of six passengers, so your group travels privately without other travelers joining you.
