That's how this seven-day Christian tour of Israel starts — no scrambling for a taxi, no negotiating with strangers. You're picked up, transferred to your Jerusalem hotel, and the next morning you begin the actual work: walking the Old City streets where the sites you've read about in the Bible suddenly have stone and light and geography. Day two is Jerusalem itself — a full day in the Old City where you move through the Stations of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa, stand inside the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, walk the Mount of Olives, visit the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. The order shifts depending on when you arrive, but the sites don't change. Day three takes you south to Bethlehem and Jericho, where you see the Church of the Nativity and the Grotto where Jesus was born, then move into Jericho — one of the world's oldest cities — and the biblical sites around it. By day four you're at Masada, riding the cable car up to King Herod's 2,000-year-old fortress, then floating in the Dead Sea's mineral-rich water and coating yourself in therapeutic mud. The northern half of the tour pulls you toward Galilee and the Jordan River. In Nazareth you visit the Church of the Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph, then move to the Sea of Galilee and the sites of Jesus' miracles — Tabgha, Capernaum, Tiberias — before reaching the Jordan River itself, where you have the chance to be baptized if you choose. Day six swings west along Israel's Mediterranean coast: the Roman port at Caesarea, the Baha'i Gardens terraced into the hillside above Haifa, the white limestone cliffs of Rosh Hanikra dropping to the beach, and the old port city of Acre with its narrow streets and history layered into the stone. On day seven your driver picks you up four hours before your flight and takes you back to Ben Gurion.
