The experience

The journey begins in Tel Aviv and crosses into Jordan via the King Hussein Bridge, where you'll pass through Jericho and the Jordan Valley before reaching Wadi Rum on day one. A 4WD jeep takes you through the desert's towering sandstone cliffs and golden dunes, past the distinctive Mushroom Rock and the Seven Pillars of Wisdom, before you settle into a traditional Bedouin-style campsite for the night.

Day two is devoted entirely to Petra. You enter through the narrow Siq: a slot canyon that builds anticipation as the Treasury emerges from the rock walls ahead. The day unfolds through the Royal Tombs, the Monastery perched high on the cliff face, and the Great Temple, each carved directly into rose-colored stone. A trek to the High Place of Sacrifice rewards the climb with panoramic views across the ancient Nabatean city. You return to the Bedouin campsite for a second night.

On the final day, the route heads north through Madaba, where intricate mosaics cover walls and floors throughout the town's streets, then climbs Mount Nebo for views across the Jordan Valley toward Jerusalem.
