The experience

The coach leaves Dublin in the morning and heads north toward the Antrim coast. Your guide is with you for the full journey, so the history and the logistics both stay in one place. Giant's Causeway is the centerpiece: over 40,000 interlocking basalt columns, most hexagonal, formed by lava cooling millions of years ago. You walk among them on the rugged coastal paths, and the scale of it (the way the columns fit together like something engineered by hand but entirely natural) is the kind of thing that doesn't shrink in a photo. From there, the tour moves to Dark Hedges, the beech-tree avenue that arches overhead like a tunnel, planted around 1775 and now famous from Game of Thrones. Dunluce Castle comes as a photo stop: a 13th-century fortress perched on a basalt outcrop above the North Atlantic, dramatic from the outside and worth the time to frame it properly.

The last two stops are in Belfast. Titanic Distillery at Thompson Docks is where you're guided through the whiskey-making process and given a tasting: the distillery opened in 2018, the first working one in Belfast since prohibition, and it's built on the site of the dry dock that once held the Titanic. After that, you have time in Belfast city centre near City Hall to walk around, grab food or a drink, before the coach returns you to Dublin around 7:30 PM.
