The experience

The tour picks you up from your hotel lobby at a time you choose, then heads to Tegenungan Waterfall, where you can walk down to the water or photograph the view from the platform above. From there, the jungle swing comes next. You ride out over dense palm forest and the Ayung River, then eat lunch at a restaurant overlooking the jungle. The driver and guide handle all the logistics: entrance fees, the sarong you need for temples, fuel and parking are already paid for.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace is the next stop, where you walk through the green paddies and watch farmers at work. Sacred Monkey Forest follows: a tropical rainforest with over 700 monkeys and three temples inside the sanctuary where you can get close to the animals. The route also passes through Celuk Village, known for gold and silver jewelry, and Mas Village, the center of Bali wood carving, so you see how local artisans work. Tirta Empul Temple, with its holy spring water and ritual bathing pools, and Ubud Art Market, across from the palace, round out the stops.
