The experience
The day begins in a tranquil mountain village at the foot of Mount Batukaru, far from the crowds. You start by walking through a lush spice and herb garden, learning the tropical plants and herbs that grow there, then the guide teaches you to play the Rindik, a traditional bamboo instrument: a small skill that shifts your mind toward the spiritual work ahead. The team helps you dress in Balinese temple clothes, and you meet the Mangku, the local priest, who will lead your ceremony.
The purification and blessing ceremony happens at a sacred temple positioned next to a secluded river, a setting the operator describes as magical. The Mangku shares the meaning behind each ritual as you move through it. You hear the sacred bells and experience the ceremony itself as a moment for body and mind to refresh. This is not a performance you watch. You are the one being blessed. After the ritual, you receive a personal photo by email to remember it.
Lunch is homemade Nasi Campur Tumpeng served at Warung Balikaru, the village restaurant, and in the afternoon you join a farmer in the rice fields, meet the animals at Balikaru farm (including stingless Trigona bees), and talk with the villagers. The day ends at Belulang Hot Springs, where you bathe in natural sulfur water alongside locals: a quiet way to unwind before leaving the village. You receive a farewell gift and a welcome drink is included throughout.
