The Experience

The air felt cooler as we climbed up toward Kintamani—windows down, you catch that faint scent of wood smoke and wet earth. Our guide Wayan pointed out the black lava fields below Mount Batur. The place feels wild but also peaceful, with mossy statues and old trees overhead. Afterward, we browsed Ubud Market stalls for woven baskets and batik scarves (don’t forget to haggle a bit). The last stop was Tegalalang rice terraces—those green steps look unreal in late afternoon light. Before heading back, we tasted kopi luwak at Satria Agrowisata plantation; it’s got this earthy flavor you won’t find anywhere else.
