The experience

You handle the 150cc 4-stroke dirt bike yourself on winding country roads that narrow into single tracks leading into the park. The guide rides ahead and sets the pace, taking you through terrain most visitors never reach: off the beaten path and across open sand dunes where you can roam without limitation. The bike comes with 5 liters of fuel, enough for 10 hours of riding and more than 100km of distance, so you are not watching a clock or rationing the route.

Midway through, you stop at Bromo Hillside cafe, perched high enough to see 360 degrees across the Tengger area. Rest here, order lunch or coffee if you want it, then continue on the bike to park near a stall and hike up to the crater on foot. From there, the route takes you to the green teletubbies hill before heading back. The guide is a natural lover who moves at your pace rather than a fixed schedule, so the day shapes itself around what you want to see and how long you want to spend.

You arrive wearing helmet, gloves and boots provided by the operator. Bottled water is included. The guide speaks English or Japanese and rides with you the whole way, not narrating from a vehicle.
