The experience

Ulun Danu Temple sits at the edge of Lake Beratan in Bedugul, a Hindu holy site that appears to float on the water when the lake rises. From there the route moves to Handara Gate, the ornate traditional Balinese entrance that has become one of Bali's most recognizable photo spots, framed by green hillsides. The morning continues to Wanagiri Hidden Hill, a newer attraction with multiple photo points: bird nests, paper boats, swings that hang over the clear blue water of Lake Buyan, and tall rock formations scattered through the grounds.

The afternoon takes you to Banyumala Waterfall in the Wanagiri valley, reached by a short climb into the valley floor.
