The experience
The day starts with hotel pickup and a drive to Padang Bai, where you meet the snorkeling guide, collect your equipment and run through safety procedures before boarding a traditional boat. Two hours of snorkeling follows at the Blue Lagoon and Tanjung Jepun, where you'll see angelfish, clownfish, puffer fish and moray eels moving through the reef and white sands. The guide stays in the water with you, and all equipment (mask, fins, wetsuit) comes with the tour.
After snorkeling, you head inland for lunch and then to Kanto Lampo, a waterfall tucked into a ravine with a shallow clear pool and moss-green cliffs rising 20 metres on each side. The locals call the entrance a secret gateway to one of the Balinese Hindu temples. Tibumana Waterfall follows, another of Bali's quieter spots. The air-conditioned car and driver handle the route between all three sites, and mineral water comes with you throughout the day.
