The experience
The course splits theory from water time so you can learn at your own pace. You'll work through the PADI e-learning platform before you arrive or during the three days, then review it with your instructor. That means the classroom work is done before you ever put on a tank, so the time on the boat is spent doing the thing you came for.
Day one happens in confined water: a pool setting where an instructor teaches you the basic skills in a controlled space. You'll learn how to breathe underwater, manage your buoyancy, and handle the equipment without the variables of the ocean. Days two and three are open water dives, four of them total, where you use those skills on actual reefs and explore what you can reach at depth. The dives happen in small groups with a professional guide who knows the local reefs and their habitats.
You'll get lunch, coffee and tea on the boat each day, plus all the scuba gear you need. The instructor is certified and insured, and the academy has operated since 1991 with no safety incidents. By the end of day three, you hold a certificate that lets you dive anywhere in the world.
