The experience

The course runs in two stages so the learning curve stays manageable. Day one happens in the dive center's pool, where an instructor walks you through the fundamentals: how to assemble your equipment, how breathing underwater actually feels, and the buoyancy control that keeps you stable at depth. You'll practice basic skills under direct supervision until you're comfortable with the sensation and the gear. Nothing happens fast. The point is to be at ease before the boat leaves the dock.

Day two is the open water. You'll dive first at Manta Point, a shallow cleaning station where manta rays gather: the depth here runs 3 to 5 meters, which is where beginners get their footing. After a rest and food on the boat, you make a second dive at Crystal Bay. All equipment is provided: mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy control jacket, regulator and the rest. Wetsuit and weight belt are included too. The instructor stays with you the whole time, watching how you move and adjust.

The dive center sits on Nusa Lembongan with facilities for what comes after: shower, locker, change room, WiFi. A certified guide speaks English, Spanish or French. Note that reaching Manta Point carries an extra fee of 300,000 Rp. per person. Digital photos or videos of your dives are available to purchase if you want proof of the moment.

What’s included

  • All diving equipment (mask, snorkel, fins, buoyancy control jacket, regulator).
  • wetsuit and weight belt.
  • certified instructor for both days.
  • dive center facilities including shower, locker, change room and WiFi.

Is this one for you?You operate the equipment yourself under an instructor's direct supervision, which is what makes the two-day structure necessary: day one in the pool builds the foundation so day two in open water feels manageable rather than overwhelming. Choose this if you want to learn to dive rather than watch it happen, and if you have two consecutive days to commit to the course.
