The experience
The tour starts with pickup from Udaipur airport, railway station or bus stand and a boat ride on Lake Pichhola at sunset before your first night. Day two covers Udaipur's City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Fatehsagar Lake and the folk art museum, then you drive 113 kilometers to Chittorgarh to explore the massive fort (built originally by Bhim of the Mahabharata), and the Vijay Stambh, a nine-storey tower 37 meters high that Maharana Kumbha built in 1440 to mark his victory over Muslim rulers. The tower stands as the centerpiece of the fort complex.
From Chittorgarh you drive to Ajmer and Pushkar, stopping at the Dargah Sharif, the tomb of the Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti. Pushkar itself sits around a holy lake and holds the Brahma Temple, one of the few temples dedicated to Brahma in India. The next leg takes you to Jaipur, where the evening includes a Sound and Light Show at the fort (subject to operation). In Jaipur you visit Amber Fort, the ancient capital, and its Sheesh Mahal, a hall covered entirely in mirrors. The afternoon tour covers the City Palace, the Observatory built by Maharaja Jai Singh, and Ram Niwas Gardens. You drive past the Hawa Mahal and through the pink-painted streets that give Jaipur its color. Dinner and classical dances happen at Chokhi Dhani before your final night. On day seven the driver takes you to Delhi airport or train station for your onward journey.
The vehicle is air-conditioned throughout, and the guide speaks English. You pick the hotels at each stop and pay their rates directly. Monument entry fees are separate. The driver handles navigation and timing while the guide explains the sites, so the day unfolds without you building it.

How does the daily schedule work? Do we start early and drive all day?
Each day mixes driving and sightseeing. Day one is arrival and a sunset boat ride. Days two through six include morning or afternoon tours of the cities and forts, with drives between them ranging from two to four hours. Day seven is the drive to Delhi. The pace is set by the group, and you have free time in the afternoons at most stops.

Chittorgarh Fort is a massive hilltop fortress 113 kilometers from Udaipur, originally built by Bhim, one of the legendary Pandava brothers. The fort complex holds the Vijay Stambh (Tower of Victory), a nine-storey structure 37 meters high built in 1440, and the Kirti Stambh (Tower of Fame), a 22-meter tower carved with Jain figures. The site is large enough to warrant a full day of exploration.
Is Pushkar a religious site, or is there more to see there?
Pushkar is one of Hinduism's holiest pilgrimage sites, centered on a sacred lake and the Brahma Temple. The town itself is small and walkable, so you can visit the temple and the lake in a morning or afternoon, then move on to Jaipur the next day.
