Step-by-step itinerary
Evening Jaipur Food Tour
- Meet guide at designated location
- Travel by rickshaw and on foot
- Visit up to eight food vendors
- Sample Jaipur dal kachori and tikki chole
- Try lassi, petha, Jaipuri kulfi, and rabdi
- Experience city life, culture, and history
The experience
The tour starts in the early evening at a designated meeting point, and from there your guide leads you by rickshaw and on foot through different districts. Instead of staying in one neighborhood, you move across the city to reach eight separate vendors: each one chosen for both its food and its role in local life. You'll walk through atmospheric lanes where long lines of locals wait for their turn, and your guide explains what you're tasting and why these particular dishes matter to Jaipur's food culture.
At each stop you sample a different dish: dal kachori (savory puffed pastries), tikki chole (potato patty with spiced chickpea curry), lassi (yogurt drink), petha (soft candy), Jaipuri kulfi (traditional ice cream), rabdi (milk dessert), and beverages. Bottled water and hand sanitizer come with you throughout. The guide has vetted every vendor for quality, safety and hygiene, so you're tasting from places that meet a standard, not just wherever is convenient.
The whole experience runs about three hours. If you need a vegetarian option, let the operator know at booking and they'll adjust the stops to match. A minimum of two people is required per booking.
