Next comes Jallianwala Bagh, a public garden a short drive away. On April 13, 1919, British troops opened fire on a peaceful gathering here, killing hundreds. The site is now a memorial. You'll see the Martyrs' Well where people jumped trying to escape, bullet holes still visible in the surrounding walls, and a flame-shaped monument marking the dead. It's a stark, quiet space: the kind of place that changes how you think about the city's history.

The day ends at the Attari-Wagah Border, about 30 kilometers from the city center, where the Beating Retreat Ceremony happens daily just before sunset. Soldiers from India's Border Security Force and Pakistan's Rangers perform a coordinated drill (high kicks, salutes, flag-lowering) in front of crowds on both sides. The energy is loud and patriotic, the ceremony lasts roughly an hour, and the whole thing closes with both flags coming down at the same moment. The drive back to the city happens after dark.

You'll ride in an air-conditioned vehicle throughout. Parking is covered. The tour runs eight to nine hours total. If you want a guide, that's an additional cost of Rs.2000 and they'll speak English or Hindi. Without a guide, you move through the sites on your own.
