Step-by-step itinerary

Wildlife, snorkeling, and beach relaxation

  • Visit sloth and monkey sanctuary
  • Snorkel at coral reef
  • Relax at West Bay Beach

The experience

The sanctuary is your first stop, where the guide walks you through to spot three-toed sloths alongside scarlet macaws, yellow-neck parrots and capuchin monkeys. You get time to photograph and learn about each animal before moving to the boat.

A ten-minute boat ride takes you to the coral reef at Christopher Place or West Bay Beach, depending on weather and your ship's arrival point. You enter the water with full snorkel gear (mask, fins, snorkel and wetsuit if needed), and instruction before you go in. The reef is where you spend your time in the water, moving at your own pace among the coral and fish.

After snorkeling, you head to West Bay Beach for the final stretch. Your day pass includes a chair on the sand, shower access, WiFi and a restaurant and bar where you can order food and drinks. You set the time to leave with your guide or driver, giving you control over how long you stay before heading back to the port. The whole excursion runs between three and five hours depending on how you pace the beach portion.

What’s included

Your excursion includes transportation to and from the ship, entrance to the wildlife sanctuary and the beach, all snorkel gear and instruction at the reef, and the West Bay Beach day pass with chair, shower and WiFi.
