Discover Scuba Diving at Ouranoupoli is a two-hour introduction to diving in a calm, protected bay directly in front of the dive center, taught by PADI professionals to small groups of beginners aged 8 and up. You start with a short theory session on equipment and safety, then enter shallow water to practice basic skills, breathe underwater and see the marine life of Halkidiki. No previous diving experience is required.

The experience

The bay in front of the dive center is where the learning happens: shallow, sheltered and chosen specifically for beginners. A PADI professional leads a short theory session covering equipment and safety procedures before you enter the water, so you understand what you're doing and why. Then you move into the sea itself, still in that calm area, and practice the basic skills under direct supervision: how to breathe underwater, how to move, how to stay in control. Small groups mean the instructor can watch you closely and adjust the pace to what you need.

The marine life in Halkidiki's crystal-clear waters is what makes this first dive memorable. You're not just learning technique in a pool, you're seeing fish and the underwater landscape while you do it. The whole experience, from theory to getting back out of the water, takes about two hours. Children from age 8 can join, and no fitness level or prior experience is required. The bay's calm conditions and the instructor's presence handle the rest.
