The experience

Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Kassandra and drives you through pine forests and olive groves to a bay or gulf dive site. The shore entry means no long swim to reach the water. You adjust your equipment and descend easily. Your guide points out the Mediterranean life as you explore: large groupers and other predators are there, but the real reward comes from slowing down to spot nudibranchs, octopuses, seahorses and the smaller creatures most divers miss. You dive for up to an hour, limited by your air or the time in the water.

Between dives, you surface and rest on the sand in the shade or take in the view from the bay's edge, where pine trees grow down to the water. You have water and a snack, then return to the same site for a second dive following a different path, usually exploring the other side of the bay. The two dives on one site let you build familiarity with the terrain and spot things you missed the first time.

After your second dive ends, your guide drives you back to your hotel. The whole outing takes four to five hours from pickup to drop-off. You choose whether to rent equipment or bring your own. Souvenir photos are available to purchase if you want them.
