The experience
Your guide picks you up from your hotel in Kassandra and drives you through pine forests and olive groves to a bay or gulf dive site. The 3.5-hour experience starts on shore with a short briefing on scuba equipment and basic diving principles. You put on the full gear (wetsuit, tank, regulator, buoyancy vest), and walk into the sea with your instructor to practice essential skills in shallow water before going deeper.
Once you're comfortable, you descend to a maximum depth of 5-6 meters while your instructor points out rock formations, starfish, octopuses, anemones and different fish species. The shallow depth and one-on-one guidance mean you stay in control the entire time. All equipment is sanitized following DAN's COVID-19 guidelines, and bottled water is provided throughout.
A few days before your chosen date, you'll receive a link to complete your PADI online personal registration and a 10-minute e-learning course. You'll also fill out an online medical questionnaire to confirm you're in good general health. A "yes" answer doesn't automatically disqualify you, but it may require your physician's approval before you dive.
