The Experience

You start from your Santorini accommodation, picked up in an air-conditioned vehicle and driven to Red Beach on the south coast where the kayaks wait. From there you paddle along the coastline of Akrotiri, moving through the island's sea caves—the ones that shift to blue as the light catches them—before heading toward Black Mountain. The route keeps you close to the water and the formations; you're not covering distance, you're moving through the landscape itself.

Snorkeling happens near Black Mountain, where you drop into the water with full equipment provided and a guide in the water with you. The paddle back takes you to White Beach, where cliff jumping is the option—the height varies, and you choose whether to jump. After that comes the picnic: local organic products spread on the beach while the sun moves toward the horizon. You're tired by then, and the meal is the pause before the final part of the day.

The sunset crossing the Aegean is the last thing you see before the drive back to your accommodation. The whole day runs seven hours. You'll need to be a swimmer—the tour is not suitable for non-swimmers—and to have at least moderate fitness; by the end, fatigue is expected. Good weather is required; if conditions cancel the trip, you get a different date or a full refund.
