Discover Scuba Diving is a 3-hour introductory course in Santorini for complete beginners, taught by a PADI Professional who stays with you the entire time. You'll learn basic skills in shallow water, then take a guided dive to explore the seafloor. The course includes full scuba equipment, instruction, small groups of no more than 4 people, and photos or videos of your first dive. Children from age 10 are welcome; allow at least 12 hours between your dive and any flight home.

The Experience

You arrive with no diving experience and leave having breathed underwater. A PADI Professional meets you, fits the scuba gear, walks you through how it works, and stays at your side the entire time—in the shallow water where you practice, and on the guided dive that follows. The whole thing takes about 3 hours. Departures run at 9am, noon, and 3pm, so you can fit it into an afternoon or start your day with it.

Small groups of maximum 4 people mean the instructor can watch you closely and adjust the pace to how you're feeling. After a short briefing, you'll enter the water in a controlled area, practice the basic skills—how to breathe, how to clear your mask, how to move—and then the real dive begins. You're exploring the seafloor with your guide, not just practicing in a pool. The dive center provides secure lockers, changing rooms, and freshwater showers, so you can rinse off and change before heading back to your hotel or your next plan.

Photos and videos of your first dive are included, so you have something to show people and proof it actually happened. The dive center is the only PADI 5 Star operation on the island, which means the instruction meets international standards and the certification is recognized worldwide—if you decide to dive again somewhere else, this course counts.
