Step-by-step itinerary
Explore Milos island by private boat
- Introduction and historical overview
- Sail along coastline and admire landscape
- Visit Glaronisia lava island
- Swim and explore Poliegos island bays
- Discover perlite mines and transparent bay
- Enjoy Kleftiko Beach and pirate stories
The experience
The tour starts by sailing the coastline to introduce the island's geology and history. You'll pass catacomans and sirmata, the traditional fishermen's houses built directly at the water's edge. The boat then moves through four main stops, each with a completely different landscape. Glaronisia is a lava island formed thousands of years ago when the earth cracked open underwater. The rock has hardened into rare hexagonal columns that rise from the sea. Poliegos, another rocky island, hides therapeutic bays where the water itself draws swimmers to stay longer. The perlite-mined bay near steep white cliffs holds water so transparent you can see the sandy bottom from the surface.
Kleftiko Beach is the final stop: a thousand-year-old rock formation with caves and the pirate stories that come with them. You swim and snorkel at each location. Snorkeling gear is provided, along with a waterproof camera so you can capture the colors and clarity of the water. Between stops, the boat keeps moving under sail, and you're never without something to look at or photograph.
Lunch is a freshly cooked Mediterranean meal served onboard, with an open bar offering sodas, juices, alcoholic beverages (for guests 18 and older) and snacks throughout the day. The tour runs six to ten hours depending on conditions and how long you spend at each stop. Service animals are welcome, and the boat is suitable for all fitness levels. Infants sit on an adult's lap.
