You walk through olive gardens and a 9th-century chapel, then move into the working winery to watch the wine-making process unfold. The tasting pairs six to nine local wines with farm-grown snacks — tomatoes, cheeses, olives — all served in the production space itself. The tour wraps in the late afternoon, and you leave with a clear sense of where the wine came from and how it got into the bottle.
By the time you arrive at Saint Anna Winery in Naxos, the fermentation tanks are already working. The tour starts with a walk through the olive garden and vineyard, past aromatic plants that catch the light differently depending on the hour, and then you reach the 9th-century chapel on the property — a small stone structure that stops most people mid-step. The winery building itself is nearly a century old, a traditional Cycladic stone house that now holds the equipment where wine gets made using both modern machinery and techniques passed down through decades.
Inside the winery, you see the actual production setup: the presses, the barrels, the video documentation of each stage from harvest to bottle. It's not a museum display — it's the working space, and the owner walks you through what happens at each step. Then comes the tasting: six to nine wines, depending on the season, each one paired with snacks grown on the farm itself. Tomatoes, peppers, olives, regional cheeses, breadsticks. The idea is simple but it works — you taste the wine in the place it was made, with food from the same soil, and the connection between the two becomes obvious.
The tasting happens at 5pm from September through May, which means the light is already turning gold by the time you're holding your glass. If you visit in summer, timing may vary, so it's worth confirming when you book. The whole experience moves at a pace that lets you ask questions without feeling rushed, and the winery is set up for wheelchairs throughout — the paths, the tasting room, the chapel grounds all accessible.
Your visit includes a walk through the olive garden and vineyard, entry to the 9th-century chapel on the property, a tour of the working winery with explanation of the wine-making process, and a tasting of six to nine local wines paired with farm-grown snacks such as tomatoes, peppers, olives, regional cheeses, and breadsticks.

Is this one for you?Choose this if you want to see how wine actually gets made rather than just taste it — the tour happens inside the working winery, not in a separate tasting room, which is what makes the connection between the process and the glass in your hand real.
