  • ATV quad biking through farms and villages

The experience

The quad-biking portion takes you through local villages and farm roads in the Aburi Mountains: terrain that changes with the weather and demands active steering and balance. Whether you're a beginner or experienced rider, the guide leads the route and paces the group. You'll navigate pineapple farms, pawpaw farms, and rugged stretches while taking in views of the countryside. Safety equipment is provided, and fuel for the bikes is included.

Between rides, the day moves through three distinct stops. Aburi Botanical Gardens features a guided walk through plant collections, with highlights including the palm walk, Bush House, Rock Garden, and a retired helicopter from the School of Horticulture. At Tetteh Quarshie Cocoa Farm, you learn how cocoa arrived in Ghana, how long plants produce, and taste cocoa in its natural form. Then you reach Asenema Falls (or Oboadaka or Adom Falls, depending on conditions), where you can swim or relax by the water with snacks and cold drinks.

Pickup happens from any Accra location you choose, and the group travels in an air-conditioned vehicle between sites. A guide fluent in English or French leads the full day. Lunch at Peduase Resort (a mix of local and international dishes) wraps the tour. Bottled water and WiFi on board are included. All fees and taxes are covered. Children from age 3 are welcome.

Operated by Kwame Tours

Is this one for you?The quad biking itself demands active riding (steering, balance, and navigating uneven terrain), so it suits travelers comfortable with physical activity and outdoor conditions. The full day runs 6 to 9 hours depending on pace and water time, and children from age 3 can join, though the ride portion is most enjoyable for those old enough to sit upright on a bike seat.
