The experience
You board at Central Station and climb to the open-top deck of a yellow double-decker bus. The audio guide starts as the bus moves, describing Nuremberg's thousand-year history and the sights passing below. Six stops are marked along the route: the Palace of Justice, Johannisfriedhof cemetery, the Imperial Castle, Main Market Square with the Town Hall, and the Documentation Center at the Nazi Party Rally Grounds. You decide at each stop whether to stay on or step off to walk around.
The full circuit takes about 2 hours if you remain seated. Most travelers get off at least once. The Imperial Castle offers views back over the city, the Main Market Square is where the Beautiful Fountain stands and the gingerbread stalls cluster, and the Documentation Center requires time to walk the grounds and enter the building if you choose. The bus runs on a loop, so you can catch it again at any stop once you've finished exploring.
Audio commentary plays in eight languages, so you follow the route in whichever one you speak. Infants and small children travel free in a pram or stroller, and the bus is wheelchair accessible. Service animals are allowed on board.

Top questions
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (1 to 15 years).
Can I get off the bus and rejoin it later at a different stop?
Yes. The hop-on hop-off format lets you exit at any of the six stops, explore on foot, and board the next bus that comes through on the same route. You're not locked into a fixed itinerary.
What is the Documentation Center at the Nazi Party Rally Grounds?
The Documentation Center is a museum built on the grounds where Nazi Party rallies were held. It covers the history of the Nazi regime and the rally grounds themselves. Entry to the center is separate from the bus ticket, but the stop gives you access to walk the outdoor grounds and decide whether to go inside.
How long does the full tour take if I stay on the bus the whole time?
The complete loop takes about 2 hours without getting off. If you hop off at stops to explore, your total time depends on how long you spend at each one.
Is the audio guide included, and what languages does it cover?
Audio guide is included with your ticket. It's available in English, Spanish, Italian, French and three additional languages, so you hear the narration in your choice of language as the bus moves between stops.
