Walk the remains of Nazi propaganda architecture with a guide who explains what stood here and why it matters now

A guided tour of Nuremberg's former Nazi Party Rally Grounds covers the Documentation Center, the 40-meter Congress Hall ruins, the Great Road parade ground, and the Zeppelin Field grandstand where rallies took place between 1934 and 1938. A live English-speaking guide leads the walk around the Dutzendteich Lake and explains how the National Socialists used megalomaniac architecture as a backdrop for propaganda ceremonies. Entrance to the otherwise inaccessible Golden Hall is included when open. The tour runs rain or shine and suits all fitness levels.

  • Learn about Nazi crimes and propaganda
  • Visit ruins of Congress Hall

The experience

Start at the Documentation Center Nazi Party Rally Grounds, where your guide introduces the National Socialist Party, its crimes, and the propaganda machinery that shaped this landscape. The Congress Hall rises 40 meters in ruins: a physical measure of the scale these architects intended. At the Arcadengang, you see how ideology translated into stone: the guide walks you through the buildings' logic and what they were designed to project.

From there, the route follows the Dutzendteich Lake and the Great Road, the main parade ground where the German Army drilled. Your guide points out where other structures once stood (the Märzfeld, the Deutsches Stadion, the participant camps), and explains how they fit into the Nazi machinery during the war. The walk ends at the Zeppelin Field, where the massive grandstand still dominates the space. From the Zeppelintribüne, the guide describes the rallies that took place here between 1934 and 1938 and how the site functions today.

If the Golden Hall is open on the day of your tour, you enter a space normally closed to the public. The entire route is wheelchair accessible, and the tour operates regardless of weather.
