The experience
Six hours on the water means you leave the dock in the morning and return with time left in your day. The boat is yours alone: no other groups, no schedule built around strangers' pace. A guide who speaks English or French steers you to the spots where rays and sharks actually are, away from the tourist anchors where the lagoon gets thick with snorkelers. You get adjustable masks, snorkels and fins. The guide handles the boat and the route.
The snorkeling happens in two or three sessions across the morning and early afternoon, with time between to rest on the pontoon. Lunch comes midday: raw fish with coconut milk, grilled fish and meat skewers, rice, local vegetables and tropical fruit. Soft drinks and water are unlimited. If you want the towed buoy (a three-seat inflatable pulled behind the boat), you can add that for extra speed and sensation. Just mention it when you book.
Pickup is included, so you don't arrange transport to the dock. Towels are on board. The boat is a majestic pontoon, stable and wide, with lounge seating and local music playing between the water time. All fitness levels work here. The guide adjusts the depth and distance to match the group.

Is this one for you?The six-hour commitment leaves your afternoon free for other activities or rest, so it fits easily into a longer stay without consuming the whole day. Book this if you want a private boat and a guide who knows where the rays and sharks are. A shared group snorkel tour would be cheaper but noisier and less flexible on where you stop.

Top questions
What languages is the tour guided in?
Live guide in English and French.
Can children come?
Yes. Ticket types: Child (13 to 17 years); Infant (under 13): free.
What's the water like when you snorkel in Bora Bora's lagoon?
The lagoon is warm, clear and shallow enough to see the bottom in most spots. Rays and sharks are common in the areas the guide takes you. They are accustomed to snorkelers and do not approach aggressively. The guide points out what to look for and stays in the water with you.
Do you need snorkeling experience to join this trip?
No. The guide provides adjustable masks and snorkels fitted to your face, and fins in your size. The boat stays in shallow lagoon water, not open ocean. If you've never snorkeled, the guide shows you how to breathe through the snorkel before you enter the water.
How much time do you actually spend in the water?
The trip is six hours total, but that includes pickup, the boat ride to the snorkeling spots, lunch and rest time on the pontoon. You snorkel in multiple sessions across the morning and early afternoon, with breaks between. The guide decides the length of each session based on conditions and the group's comfort.
Can you do the towed buoy if you're not a strong swimmer?
The towed buoy is optional and you choose it at checkout. It's a three-seat inflatable pulled behind the boat at low speed, so it's more about fun and sensation than swimming ability. You wear a life jacket and hold on. Tell the operator when you book if you want it.
What if you don't eat raw fish or meat?
Lunch includes raw fish with coconut milk, grilled fish skewers, grilled meat skewers, rice, local vegetables and tropical fruit. If you have dietary restrictions or preferences, contact the operator before your booking date to discuss what's available.
