The experience
The tasting starts in the wine space with a video showing how Alsace wines are made: a setup that works for children as well as adults. From there you move into the cellar itself, where wooden barrels dating back to 1850 line the stone walls. A 180° immersive video is projected directly onto these barrels, paired with a soundtrack that pulls you into the winemaker's family history and philosophy. It's the only experience of its kind in France, and the scale of the projection (wrapping around the barrel room rather than playing on a flat screen) changes how the story lands.
The meal happens in the immersive tasting and dining room. You begin with a seasonal soup, move to a tasting plate of foie gras, then choose between an Alsatian meat pie with vegetables or a vegetarian quiche (let them know your preference when you book). Cheese and a piece of kougelhopf finish the course, each paired with a wine selected by the house. The whole experience runs about two and a half hours from start to finish.
You leave with a small bottle of mulled wine and a piece of Alsatian gingerbread (both made by the house), so the tasting doesn't end when you walk out the door. The cellar has won the Alsace 2021 Tourism Trophy, the Atout France Oenotourism Trophy in 2022, and the Marketing France Trophy from the regional wine committee in 2023.
