The experience

You're picked up from your hotel in Reims or Epernay and spend the day moving between the houses on a route built around what each one offers. The tour starts in Reims with visits to four major houses: Veuve Clicquot, Pommery, Mumm and Taittinger. At Pommery, you get a full private cellar visit: no group tour, just you and your guide walking through the chalk tunnels to understand how Champagne is made. The other three houses in Reims include tastings and shop time, so you can buy bottles if something catches your eye.

Midday brings a three-course lunch with Champagne, a break before the afternoon leg. Then you head to Epernay to visit Mercier and Moët & Chandon, both with cellar access and tastings.
