The experience

The boat leaves from Port Javel Haut, located on the Seine facing the Statue of Liberty replica: a four-ton, 11.5-meter-tall copy of the New York original that sits on Île aux Cygnes. From there, the route moves past the Eiffel Tower, built for the 1889 Universal Exhibition and still the tallest structure in Paris, then under Pont Alexandre III, the ornate 1896 metal bridge decorated with Russian and French emblems that commemorate the Russo-French alliance.

The cruise continues past the Louvre Museum, the former royal palace and now one of the world's largest art museums, and under Pont Neuf: Europe's oldest stone bridge and the first one built in Paris. Beyond it, you'll see Notre-Dame Cathedral, whose construction took over 180 years (1163–1345), and Paris Plages, the artificial sandy beach that appears along the Seine each summer. All boats have roofs to shield you from sun and rain, and you're welcome to bring your own snacks, drinks and pets on board.

The entire route takes 1.5 hours. Arrive 15 minutes early at the meeting point. For shared cruises, the boat departs on schedule regardless of latecomers, but private cruises will wait up to 60 minutes (though this shortens the cruise time).
