Summary

See Paris up close by Segway with quick stops and stories

You’ll glide past twelve iconic Paris monuments on a Segway tour with photo stops and stories from your local guide. Feel the city’s energy as you zip along the Seine, stop by Art Nouveau facades, and pause beneath gilded bridges. It’s quick but oddly intimate — perfect if you want to see more than postcards show.

experience

What’s the experience like?

The first thing I noticed was how weirdly fun it feels to stand on a Segway right outside the Eiffel Tower — I mean, you’re just sort of gliding there while everyone else is walking or rushing. Our guide, Marc, handed out helmets (and gloves for me, since it was one of those chilly Paris mornings) and made sure nobody would crash into a baguette stand. After ten minutes wobbling around the plaza, we set off. The city felt different from this height — you see people’s faces, not just crowds.

We zipped along the Seine, passing the Lavirotte Building with its wild Art Nouveau curves — Marc pointed at the door and said something about “the most photographed entrance in Paris.” I tried to say “belle époque” but probably butchered it; he just grinned. There were moments when the wind picked up and you could smell roasted chestnuts from a vendor near Pont Alexandre III. That bridge is even more ornate up close than I expected — gold everywhere, statues staring down at us like they knew we didn’t belong.

Honestly, the whole thing went by fast — maybe because we stopped for photos every few minutes (Marc had opinions about angles). At one point, someone in our group almost steered into a lamppost while gawking at the Grand Palais’ glass roof. No judgment; I did almost the same at Petit Palais. It’s hard not to get distracted by all that old stone and sudden color — blue domes on the Orthodox church, flashes of green from trees along Quai de Seine. We covered so much ground in just over an hour but somehow it didn’t feel rushed. Maybe it was Marc’s stories or just that feeling of rolling through Paris like you’re part of some odd little parade.

I still think about that last stretch back toward Champ de Mars — sunlight breaking through clouds for a second, everyone quiet except for this low hum from our wheels on the pavement. If you only have a short window in Paris and want to see as much as possible without feeling like you’re sprinting between metro stops… well, this is probably it.
