The experience

The tour starts at 9am at the Cannes port, where you meet your guide and board an air-conditioned minivan. Nice comes first, the capital of the French Riviera, where you see the Promenade des Anglais seafront, Castle Hill, the Le Negresco hotel and the flower market. From there the route climbs to Eze, a medieval village where you visit the Fragonard perfume factory and learn how traditional perfume is made on-site.

Monaco and Monte Carlo follow. You walk through the Old Town, pass the Prince's Palace and the cathedral where Prince Rainier and Grace Kelly were married, and see the Hôtel de Paris, the Monte Carlo Opera House and the Casino. If Formula One interests you, your driver can take you around the Grand Prix course. Then it's on to Antibes, where you take in the seaside views, visit the Picasso museum, drive through Cap d'Antibes to its lighthouse, and pass the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc, one of the Riviera's most famous hotels.

The tour winds down with a pass through Cannes before returning to the port after seven hours. Your guide speaks English, French or Russian, and the minivan carries bottled water, Wi-Fi and phone chargers.
