The experience
The Furon Canyon is a playful and dramatic descent through the Vercors, built around a sequence of natural features you navigate one by one. After gearing up and a short walk downhill, you encounter the first obstacles: two deep basins where you wade or swim in, depending on the water level and your choice. What follows is a series of varied challenges (mini toboggans, short rappels, more pools) each one different from the last, with short walks between them to catch your breath and take in the setting.
The canyon ends in a collection of jumps and a final toboggan that drops you into a pool, the apotheosis the guides promise. From there you walk back to the cars and change out of your gear. The whole outing takes about three hours. A professional guide stays with the group throughout, and all the equipment (wetsuit, helmet, harness, rope) comes with the booking. Photos taken during the day are available afterward.
The activity sits 20 minutes from Grenoble, making it an easy half-day option for families, friends, groups or celebrations. You'll need to bring swimwear and a towel. Sneakers or water shoes work for the walk-in and walk-out sections.
