The tour starts with instruction on how to safely operate a snowmobile, then you ride for about an hour through the Lappish forest right on the Arctic Circle. This is a night snowmobile tour, not a Northern Lights hunt (the operator is clear about that distinction), but if conditions align and the aurora appears, they extend the ride at no extra cost so you can watch it. You wear thermal overalls, gloves, boots and a balaclava provided by the company. Pickup from your hotel is included, and guides speak English, Spanish or French.
