At each stop, you stand in the silence of the Arctic night while the guide explains what causes the Northern Lights and answers your questions about the phenomenon. The snowmobile itself is what gets you there: it lets you cover ground quickly and reach exclusive spots that are unreachable by car.

The activity lasts 3.5 hours and includes all winter equipment (helmet, balaclava, gloves, boots and thermal overall), so you're protected against the cold. The guide briefs you on driving and safety before you start, and speaks English (other languages available on request). Transfer from the Lapland Office to the starting point and back is included. The Aurora is unpredictable and not guaranteed to appear, but the snowmobile driving through frosty trees and snow-banks is the main experience. The lights are an added value if conditions allow.

You must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driver's license (A1, T, A or B category, valid in Finland) to drive. Children from age 4 can ride as passengers.
