A 3-hour evening snowmobile safari departing from Sinettä, 20 km north of Rovaniemi, takes small groups deep into snow-covered wilderness on heated Lynx snowmobiles. You ride through the Arctic night with your headlights cutting across remote trails, then pause at a campfire or forest hut for hot sausages, snacks and warm drinks. The experience

The safari starts north of Rovaniemi and heads straight into terrain most visitors never reach. You'll ride a modern, eco-friendly snowmobile built for two passengers (or solo if you upgrade), with heated grips and boot warmers on the driver's side and a heated seat on the passenger's. The headlights carve through the snowy trails as you move deeper into the forest, and the cold air and engine sound become the whole world for a while. Whether you've ridden before or never touched a snowmobile, the machines are forgiving enough that confidence builds fast.

Partway through, you stop at a cozy campfire set in the open forest or inside a hut with a fireplace: whichever the weather calls for. Hot sausages, snacks and warm juice thaw you out, and this is when the sky gets its chance. The Northern Lights depend on solar activity and cloud cover, so they're never guaranteed, but on clear nights the aurora can appear right above the trees. If the cold turns severe, the stop moves to a remote forest café with hot chocolate or coffee instead.

The whole outing runs three hours and includes all the gear you need: snowmobile suit, boots, wool socks, gloves, balaclava and helmet. Your guide speaks English and leads groups small enough that you're not herded with dozens of others. Pickup is included, and children from age 4 can ride as passengers.
