The Experience

The guide meets you at the office to fit you into thermal gear—overall, boots, gloves, woollen socks, scarf and helmet—and walk through the basics of handling the snowmobile before you head out. You'll need a valid EU driving license (physical copy, Roman letters only) and be at least 18 years old to drive. The whole setup takes the pressure off: you show up, get outfitted and instructed, then ride.

Once you're on the snow, you drive through the forests around the Arctic Circle, stopping for photos where the light and the landscape line up. Two hours is long enough to feel the rhythm of the machine and the quiet of the winter forest without the commitment of a full day in the saddle. If you're traveling with children, they sit in a sleigh towed behind the guide's snowmobile, so the whole group moves together.
