The experience

The ride covers 15–20 km across Apukka Resort's snowy trails, made possible year-round with stored snow and snow cannons so conditions don't dictate whether you go. Before you leave, the guide walks you through safety and how to handle the machine, so no prior snowmobile experience is needed. The actual riding time runs 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes depending on the day's conditions and your group's pace.

Two adults share one snowmobile, so if you're traveling as a pair you'll take turns or ride together. Children aged 4–14 sit in a sledge towed behind, and infants stay on an adult's lap. The driver must be at least 18 and hold a valid driving license recognized in Finland. Winter clothing (thermal overall, thermal boots, woolen socks and mittens) comes with the booking, so you don't need to bring your own or figure out what to wear in the cold.

Transfers run between Rovaniemi city center or Santa Claus Village and the resort, so you don't arrange separate transport. The guide speaks English and stays with the group throughout. The resort handles all the logistics of the machines and the trails. You show up ready to ride.
