The experience

The day starts at a biodynamic vineyard overlooking Chew Valley Lake, where you'll taste two wines while learning how biodynamic farming shapes both flavour and land. From there you head to The Pony in Chew Valley for a three-course lunch made with local ingredients, followed by a tour of the restaurant's gardens. The route then takes you to Cheddar village itself, where you explore before visiting the dairy that produces the only cheddar cheese actually made in Cheddar, and taste several of their cheeses.

The final stop is Sutton Ridge Vineyard, run by Ingrid, who grows using planet-friendly techniques. You'll taste her wines and hear directly about her approach. Throughout the day, Florence (a sustainability expert with deep knowledge of the local food and farming sector) guides the group and explains the environmental practices behind what you're tasting. The minibus picks you up in Bristol at 10am and returns you by 6pm, so the whole experience fits inside a single afternoon or early evening.
