The experience

Your guide meets you at your hotel and drives you to Giza in a private air-conditioned vehicle. The four-hour tour takes you through the three main pyramids (Khufu's Great Pyramid, Khafre's middle pyramid, and Menkaure's smaller one) each with its own temple complex. Your guide explains the history as you move between them: Khafre's valley temple yielded statues of the king himself, and Menkaure's complex once held several royal sculptures. Bottled water is provided throughout the day to keep you comfortable in the heat.

The Sphinx, built during Khafre's reign, stands at the end of the tour. A temple dedicated to the sun god was added during the New Kingdom and expanded by later rulers. Your guide answers questions about the monuments' construction and purpose as you move through the site. Entry to the basic areas is included. If you want to go inside a pyramid or add a camel or ATV ride, you choose that option when you book.
