The Experience
The tour starts with bus transport from Cairo or Alexandria to Siwa, where your guide meets you at the hotel for breakfast before the first day's activities begin. You'll float in the mineral-rich salt lake, visit hot and cold springs, and ride a 4x4 vehicle across golden dunes for sandboarding and sunset tea: ending the day soaking in warm natural spring water. The second day shifts to history: a salt cave for disconnection and rejuvenation, then entry to the Temple of the Oracle (Amun Temple), the Mountain of the Dead with its ancient rock-carved tombs, and Shali Fortress, the historic mud-brick city. You'll browse the Old Siwa Market for traditional crafts and watch the sunset from Fatnas Island before returning for dinner and the bus ride home.
Hotel accommodation is at one of four partner properties (Papy House, Maddhour House, Serenity House, or Cafour House) chosen by availability and your needs. Every meal is included: breakfast, lunch and dinner each day, plus snacks and local drinks. Transportation covers the bus from your departure city and all movement within Siwa, including the 4x4 safari vehicle. The guide is a live person fluent in English, Spanish, Italian or French, and children are welcome from age 5 onward.
An optional third night (€50 extra) lets you choose between a starry desert night with Siwan tea and optional desert sleeping, a sunrise from Jabal El-Dakrour followed by special breakfast, free time at the hotel, and sunset at Shali Fortress. Additional wellness add-ons are available: massage sessions (€20 per hour), cupping therapy (€18 for 40 minutes), a visit to the abandoned Olive Village (€20), or a trip to Tughaghine Island (€10).
