A 7-hour class and tour from Guayaquil combines hands-on chocolate making at a cocoa farm with a guided walk through downtown landmarks. The Experience

What does a cocoa farm actually look like, and what happens when you make chocolate yourself? The morning answers both. You're picked up from your hotel at 10am and driven an hour through Ecuador's countryside to reach the farm. Once there, you walk the nursery of cocoa trees and the plantation itself, then move into the working part: you'll process cocoa pods and make chocolate from scratch using the farm's methods and equipment. If you've booked the optional lunch at the farm, you eat there; otherwise you return to the city and eat on your own.

The afternoon shifts to the city. Your guide takes you through downtown Guayaquil's main stops: Seminario Park (known for its iguanas), the Cathedral, Malecón 2000 (the waterfront promenade), and Las Peñas, the historic neighborhood of narrow streets and colonial buildings. You're back at your hotel by the end of the 7-hour day.

The driver and guide are the same person throughout, speaking English. Transportation is in a private vehicle, so the pace stays yours and the stops don't stretch to fit a larger group. Hotel pickup and drop-off mean no negotiating a taxi or finding the farm on your own—the logistics are handled.
