This 8-hour activity from Punta Cana combines ziplining and off-road buggy driving in the Anamuya Mountains, with a swim in the river and Dominican lunch in between. You'll zip across 12 lines spanning 18 platforms above the rainforest, then drive your own buggy on a cross-country route after the meal. Roundtrip hotel pickup is included. Drivers must be at least 18 with a valid license, and children under 12 stay in the reception area after cable 8 on the zipline circuit for safety reasons.

The experience

The day starts at the Anamuya Mountains, where you'll gear up for the zipline course. Specialized guides walk you through the safety setup and how to move through the 12 lines. You're not watching from below, you're clipped in and moving across 18 platforms suspended over the rainforest. The course takes the morning, and the guides are there to make sure the mechanics are clear before you step off each platform.

After ziplining, you'll head to a Dominican buffet lunch, then move to the river for a swim in the Anamuya. The water section is optional. You can swim or just sit and take in the landscape if you prefer. This break splits the adrenaline parts of the day and gives you a chance to dry off before the second half.

The afternoon is the buggy ride. You'll drive your own vehicle cross-country from a ranch, not ride as a passenger. The guides teach you the basics (handling, safety, how the buggy responds) before you head out, and they're with you the whole time. Bottled water is provided throughout, and the whole experience wraps in about eight hours. Roundtrip transport from most centrally located Punta Cana hotels is included, so you don't arrange the pickup separately.

What happens if it rains?

It may be canceled due to bad weather. If that happens, you're offered another date or a refund. No refund if you cancel.

Can I zipline if I'm under 12 years old?

Children as young as 8 can participate in ziplining, but only on the first 8 cables of the 12-line course. After cable 8, children under 12 stay in the zipline reception area with dedicated staff while the rest of the group continues, so they don't miss the day. They're supervised while others finish the full circuit.

Do I need a driver's license to ride the buggies?

Yes. Buggy drivers must be at least 18 years old and carry a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience. If you don't meet these requirements, you can still zipline and swim, but you won't be able to drive during the buggy portion.

What's included in the price?

Zipline entrance and equipment, an instructor for both activities, a Dominican buffet lunch, bottled water throughout the day, and roundtrip hotel pickup from most centrally located Punta Cana hotels are all included. Bring your own towel, bathing gear, sunblock and covered ankle shoes.

How long is the whole experience?
