Punta Cana Jungle Safari: Horseback, Zip Line & Buggy
Ride, zip, learn and swim across the Dominican countryside in a single day
A full-day jungle safari and cultural tour in Punta Cana combines horseback riding through a working plantation, zip lining across four mountain stations over 600 meters each, hands-on chocolate and coffee making, a Dominican buffet lunch by the Anamulla River with swimming, and a final off-road buggy ride to cenotes and Macao Beach. The tour includes pickup, an air-conditioned vehicle, a live guide in English, Spanish, Italian, French and one additional language, and all meals and drinks.
Step-by-step itinerary
Jungle safari and cultural exploration
- Horseback ride at Rancho Papito
- Visit plantation and learn chocolate making
- Zip line through Anamuya mountains
- Buffet lunch and swim at Anamuya river
- Off-road buggy tour to caves and Macao beach
The Experience
Rancho Papito starts the day with horseback riding through the ranch, where you'll see tobacco cultivation and learn how cigars are made. From there you move into the plantation itself—Casa Tipica—where you'll walk through working crops of cacao, coffee, vanilla and cinnamon, taste the organic products, and understand how each one grows and is processed. The guide walks you through the methods; you handle the plants and the samples.
The zip line section happens in the Anamuya mountains. Four stations carry you across more than 600 meters of cable each, strung above the landscape so you're moving through the canopy and over the terrain below. The final station is open-air, so the last descent has nothing between you and the view. After that comes lunch at Restaurant El Punto, right on the Anamulla River—a Dominican buffet with tropical fruits, fresh water for swimming, and vegetarian options if you've requested them. The river is cold and clean; many people swim after eating.
The afternoon closes with a 4x4 buggy ride to the Taíno cenotes, where you can swim again in the cave pools, and then out to Macao Beach for the final stop. The operator notes that roughly an hour and a half of the eight-hour day is transport time between sites. Pickup is included, and the vehicle is air-conditioned.
