The experience

The first thing I noticed was the smell of roasting coffee drifting out of the kitchen window: honestly, it pulled me right in. We’d just arrived at this family-run house outside Juan Dolio, and our guide Rosa was already laughing at my attempts to say “buenos días” like a local.
