Halloumi Making Class in Troodos Mountains from Limassol
Make halloumi with a local cheesemaker, then taste your way through mountain villages
A halloumi-making workshop in the Troodos Mountains, departing from Limassol with a local bilingual guide. You'll make the cheese from start to finish at a village workshop, sit down to brunch with what you've made, then visit three more food producers in the mountain villages and a traditional village to explore. All tastings, transport, meals and entrance fees are included.
The Experience
You'll be picked up from a Limassol location of your choice and driven into the Troodos mountain countryside to a village cheesemaker's workshop. There you'll learn the traditional technique of halloumi and anari cheese-making hands-on, working through the whole process from start to finish alongside a local. The workshop ends with a sit-down brunch that includes the cheeses you've just made, along with village bread, farm fresh eggs, smoked ham, tomatoes, cucumber, jams and honey. Tea, coffee and homemade lemonade are served throughout.
After brunch, you'll continue deeper into the scenic mountain villages to visit three more food producers: stops might include honey producers, traditional sweet makers, donkey milk product vendors, chocolates, olive oil, wine or other local specialties, depending on the day's route. You'll also spend time in a traditional village like Lefkara or Omodos where you can shop and explore. Tastings happen at each stop: honey, traditional sweets, wine, chocolates and more. The whole experience runs about seven and a half hours, and your guide (a trained local who speaks English and Greek) handles all the routing and commentary. Everything is included: entrance fees, tastings, the brunch, drinks, transport and the workshop itself, with no hidden costs.
