The experience

What makes this different from a snorkel is that you're operating the equipment yourself. After a briefing on the basics of diving, you enter the water at Blue Bay Beach, an easy walk-in from the sand, and spend time on basic exercises to get comfortable with the gear and breathing underwater. Once you're ready, you move into the house reef to explore it on your own terms, guided the whole way. The bay stays calm and shallow, which is exactly why Blue Bay is the spot for this: no surge, no current, just you and the reef.

A live guide leads the whole session in English, Spanish, Italian, French or one of two other languages, and safety is the priority at this PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Center. The 2-hour window includes the briefing, the in-water exercises, and the reef exploration, so you're in and out without a long commitment.
